The only way to describe the past six months is with one word: Blessed. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, the day we released the book, we sold 125 copies in three and half hours. My book designier, Tami Dever a couple of times, asked me that day if I had any idea of how well we were doing. I just sort of shrugged and said, "Not really" and went back to signing more books.
As it turns out, that was just the beginning. A few weeks later I was due to go to the Amarillo Wolfen Village Hastings for a book signing. Late in the afternoon the day before I was to leave, I get a call from The Alamo wanting to order 60 books. Can you say stunned? It took a second for the impact to settle in--My God! This was THE ALAMO calling for my book. What an honor! I'm sure I sounded like a babbling idiot to the lady at the other end of the phone. She reassured me that I had heard correctly and asked, "How soon can you get them here?" I thought quickly remembering I was leaving for Amarillo the next afternoon. I told her I'd have them there in the morning...and that's what happened. I delivered the books, they went on sale that day and I went off to Amarillo to another successful book signing at the Hastings store. I believe we sold 41 copies in an hour and half. That's another whole story I have to tell you.
There is so much more to tell you...come back soon and I will tell you what has happened, why it's happened. We've really had some remarkable success. Check back soon. I'll be updating the blog regularly now. Talk to you soon |
